Mosquito Net A Must Before Wedding - Sokoto Proposes Law

Sokoto state government proposed a special scheme to eradicate malaria in the state because of the high rate of malaria in the state. 

Following the previous outbreak of malaria in the state, the commissioner for health Balarabe Kakale has reiterate a new law which states that any man bonafide for marriage must provide a well treated mosquito net to his bride’s family as part of bride price or the wedding will not take place.

Daily Trust also reported that the new law state that both the man and woman will undergo sickle cell gene test and also enroll for a state community contributory health scheme to reduce the cost of medical treatment.
