Masts Burnt In UK Over Claims Linking Covid19 To 5G

The BBC reports that masts in Birmingham and Merseyside were burnt down during the week by irate individuals over the viral claims of a 5G Technology involved with the recent virus affecting globally.

Some social media users have said that the coronavirus is caused by the radiation from the 5G network.

Others reiterated that what is making people sick is such radiation and not the virus.

But the UK Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport have dismissed the claims, which it  described as inaccurate and not true.

“There is absolutely no credible evidence of a link between 5G and coronavirus,” it added.

The UK mobile network providers also warned against the spread of such rumours and conspiracy theories.

The rumours have also emerged among Nigerians who have urged the government not to install the 5G masts over fears of the virus.

A former Senator from Kogi state, tweeted a video claiming that the radiation from the 5G is what causes the coronavirus.
