Women who decide for smoking cessation in menopause have to monitor their weight,
according to researchers from Indiana University School of Public
Health in Bloomington.
Effectively, the study found an association between smoking cessation and a lower risk of CHD (Coronary Heart Desease) among postmenopausal women, with or without diabetes.
However, gaining more than 4 kg may weaken the benefit and increase the risk of diabetes.
The pleasure of food can’t totally replace smoke habit: giving up smoking is even complicated for aged women.
