There was commotion on Monday, August 11 at the General Hospital in Oke-Odo, Agege, Lagos State, when a woman suspected to be infected with the deadly Ebola virus showed up there.

According to sources in the hospital who spoke to Daily Sun, the frail looking lady who came with blood oozing from her mouth and nostrils was chased out of the hospital by the nurses on duty.

She was reportedly told to go to the Yaba isolation centre created by the Lagos State Government for Ebola virus victims.

After she had left and the news got to people in the area, they panicked and ran in different directions.
The traders within the vicinity were said to have scampered in different directions.
It took several hours before normalcy was restored to the area.

Three people have already died of the Ebola virus in Nigeria. First person was the Liberian man, Patrick Sawyer who brought the disease into the country, followed by a nurse who took care of him and a Protocol Officer of ECOWAS who assisted him to the hospital.

The death toll has continued to rise and over a thousand people have died in Guinea, Sierre Leone, Liberia and Nigeria.
