In a desperate bid to quit smoking, a Turkish man, who smoked two two
packets of cigarettes a day for 26 years has resorted to wearing a cage
on his head.
Ibrahim Yucel, 42, has tried several times to kick the habit but has had no success. Inspired by the motorbike riders wearing safety helmets, he decided to to come up with this unusual idea of wearing the helmet-like cage in a last-ditch attempt to quit smoking.
Yucel, belonging to the western province of Kutahya, designed this bird cage look-alike helmet, which prevents him from smoking.
Every morning he heads off to work wearing the elaborate device - and he takes extra measures to stop himself from opening it and sneaking a smoke. He leaves the keys to the cage with his wife and his children, so there is no way he can break his vow to himself.
The family was initially unsure about letting hime done this get-up, but after a few days they realised that the plan might just work.
