Do you have experience of policy development and an understanding of medical education and the health systems in the UK? This is an opportunity to join the General Medical Council (GMC), in London, and contribute to the development of education policy that will help raise standards.
We are the independent regulator for doctors in the UK. Our aim is to protect, promote and maintain the health and safety of the community by ensuring proper standards in the practice of medicine.
As a key member of our Education Policy team, you’ll support the development of policy through the provision of information, analysis and advice on a range of medical education and training issues.
You’ll also develop and maintain strong working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, including medical schools and royal colleges, patients and doctors and healthcare providers.
You’ll have good research and analysis skills and will be comfortable using complex information to assist the development of new policy. Your well-developed writing and communication skills will give you the confidence to present research findings to internal and external audiences and your creative thinking will help you develop new ideas.
You’ll also need an understanding of undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and the different health systems across the UK.
In return, you’ll benefit from being part of an organisation that is genuinely committed to its people. We offer an attractive package that includes a defined contribution pension scheme, private medical insurance and a generous holiday allowance.
