She's the host of syndicated daytime
show "FABLife" and Mrs. John Legend and now she's just announced
she's pregnant with the couple's first child.
But Teigen admits that she and
her husband, who have been together for 10 years, would have had children much
earlier were it not for her difficulty getting pregnant."
I would say,
honestly, [that] John and I were having trouble. We would have had kids five,
six years ago if it had happened, but my gosh, it's been a process," she
said on an episode of the show.
Mark
Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan
The Facebook founder announced on
the social-media site that he and wife Priscilla Chan were expecting a baby
girl.
But within that announcement, Mark Zuckerberg also revealed that Chan had
suffered three miscarriages before getting pregnant.
In his announcement on his
own Facebook page, Zuckerberg wrote, "We've been trying to have a child
for a couple of years and have had three miscarriages along the way."
The
31-year-old father-to-be also wrote that he hoped his own experience would help
other couples going through the same thing.
Kim
Kardashian West and Kanye West
Kim Kardashian West is nearing the
end of her second pregnancy, but getting pregnant with daughter North was
difficult for the reality TV star.
And though she has openly documented the
struggle on "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," it was her sister
Khloe's struggle to get pregnant that gave Kim the courage to expose her own
battle to have a second baby.
"Khloe has been very open about her
fertility issues, and I think I was always really kind of quiet about mine, and
I have similar issues, and so it was a pleasant surprise when so many doctors
were telling me one thing and then the opposite happens," she told the
"Today Show."
"That's an exciting moment, you can plan for
things like that. So I think it's just such a blessing knowing my
circumstances."
Nicole
Kidman and Keith Urban
While married to Tom Cruise, Nicole
Kidman admits to suffering from a miscarriage that resulted in she and Cruise
adopting children Connor and Isabella. When she married Keith Urban, she again
tried to have children.
"I had tried and failed and failed and failed. Not
to be too detailed, but I've had an ectopic pregnancy, miscarriages and I've
had fertility treatments.
I've done all the stuff you can possibly do to try
get pregnant," she tells Who magazine. "I had so much time thinking
that wasn't going to happen in my life and trying to understand that.
When it
did happen and for it to be a surprise that was great. "In addition to
Kidman's daughter Sunday Rose, whom she carried herself, she and Urban have
another daughter, Faith, born via surrogate.
Mariah
Carey and Nick Cannon
Mariah Carey is now mom to 4-year-old
twins Moroccan and Monroe with ex-husband Nick Cannon, but the road to
motherhood wasn't easy for the pop diva.
Carey talked to "Access
Hollywood" about suffering a miscarriage, saying, "It kind of shook
us both and took us into a place that was really dark and difficult.
When that
happened ... I wasn't able to even talk to anybody about it. That was not
easy."
Jack
Osbourne and Lisa Stelly
Already parents to 3-year-old
daughter Pearl, Jack Osbourne and his wife Lisa Stelly suffered a late-term
miscarriage. In their announcement, the couple said, "All we can do is
trust in God and know he has a plan for our lives." The couple was able to
conceive again. Daughter Andy Rose was born in June 2015.

Stefani and Gavin Rossdale
After reportedly suffering a
miscarriage while she and then-husband Gavin Rossdale were trying for a third
child, Gwen Stefani assumed that she was done having kids.
But, it was her two
sons, Kingston and Zuma, who kept pushing their mom for a third baby.
On
"Late Night," she said her son Kingston prayed for a baby, saying,
"'Dear God, please let my mom have a baby.
Please, God! Please let my mom have
a baby!'" Four weeks later, "The Voice" judge was pregnant with
son Apollo, who was born in February 2014.
Courteney
Cox and David Arquette
The "Cougar Town" star
doesn't have a hard time getting pregnant, it's staying pregnant that has
proven difficult for her.
Before giving birth to daughter Coco (with ex-husband
David Arquette), Cox went through multiple rounds of IVF before getting
pregnant with their 11-year-old daughter." I get pregnant pretty
easily," Cox told People magazine, "but I have a hard time keeping
them."

Shields and Chris Henchy
In her book "Down Came the
Rain," which chronicled her experience with postpartum depression, Brooke
Shields wrote, "We were crushed.
Up till then, I thought simply because it
was time and I wanted to have a baby, it would work out." She then went on
to give birth to daughters Rowan Francis, 12, and Grier Hammond, 9.
Celine
Dion and René Angélil
The pop diva is now mom to three
kids, but it was her determination to become pregnant the second time that made
that possible.
When her first child, Rene-Charles, was 9, Dion told People
magazine of her quest to have another baby.
"I'm going to try until it
works," she said. And she did. Dion went through four failed IVF
treatments and a miscarriage before finally getting pregnant. Twins Eddy and
Nelson are now 4 years old.
Jaime
King and Kyle Newman
While trying to get pregnant with
her second child, the "Hart of Dixie" star admits to struggling until
she was finally diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome, a condition that
affects female sex hormones and fertility, as well as endometriosis.
But she
kept her struggle to conceive a secret, telling People, "I was hiding what
I was going through for so long, and I hear about so many women going through
what I went through.
If I'm open about it, hopefully it won't be so taboo to
talk about it." Her second son Leo was born in July 2015.
Sherri
Shepherd and Jeff Tarpley
When it came to getting pregnant
with son Jeffrey in 2004, "The View" host says she went through
"shots in my butt, shots in my stomach, a little surgery" before she
got pregnant with twins via IVF. Shepherd, who was married to Jeff Tarpley at
the time, miscarried one of the twins at 11 weeks, and Jeffrey was born 15
weeks prematurely.
Jeffrey remained in the hospital for three months, causing
Shepherd to say, "My son was fighting for his life. ... I remember saying,
'I will never laugh again.'" Thankfully she did.
Emma
Thompson and Greg Wise
After being devastated by a
miscarriage, Emma Thompson put her acting career on hold to try to conceive
with partner Greg Wise. The effort paid off, and Thompson got pregnant with now
15-year-old daughter Gaia.
But when she couldn't get pregnant again, Thompson
said, "There's been an awful lot of grief to get through in not being able
to get pregnant again, but there are thousands and thousands of women like me
who can't have children."
Thompson and Wise in 2003 adopted a 16-year-old
from Rwanda named Tindyebwa Agaba, who had been living a life of hardship as a
child soldier.
Jimmy
Fallon and Nancy Juvonen
The "Tonight Show" host
and his film producer wife, Nancy Juvonen, tried to have baby for five years
before turning to a surrogate for each of the couple's two daughters, Winnie
and Frances."
We've tried a bunch of things," Jimmy Fallon told the
"Today Show." "Anyone who's tried will know, it's just awful.
I
know people have tried much longer, but if there's anyone out there who is
trying and they're just losing hope ... just hang in there."
Halle
Berry and Gabriel Aubry
When it came time for the Oscar-winning
actress to try for a baby with then-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, Halle Berry admits
it was a struggle.
Berry was 41 at the time and said, "While I was trying
to get pregnant, we tried really hard, so it was a lot of staying home and just
doing what you do." Berry, who admits to being superstitious, saved all of
her pregnancy tests in a drawer.
After about 35 tests, she finally got one that
was positive, and that resulted in daughter Nahla. Berry then went on to have a
son, Maceo, with husband Olivier Martinez. The couple just announced that they,
too, will be separating.
