REGULAR medical check up has been identified as the most reliable and
medically-approved method of treating erectile dysfunction (ED),
suffered by some men.
Medical doctors and top consultants at the yearly lectures by the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, in Lagos, said men who are suffering from erectile dysfunction (ED) should immediately consult a medical doctor in either government or private hospital, who should conduct simple but necessary tests, particularly on the heart.
President of the ARD, Dr Mutalib Shobode, explained: “Result of such check-up will often determine the nature of prescription (and dosage) of drugs needed to treat the infirmity.”
Shobode further explained that ED is a health condition that causes weak erection of the penis, which becomes ineffective, hence inability for smooth penetration, thereby does not allow satisfactory sexual performance.
One of the sponsors of the event and Managing Director of Rosswell Pharmaceutical Limited, based in Ajah, Lagos, marketers of T-Max Tadalafil (20mg) in Nigeria, Mr. Charles Ochieze, spoke on the need for medical doctors to work at minimising abuse of drugs that enhances sexual activity.
Ochieze, who is a professional pharmacist, said: “the industry must accept responsibility to protect lives and wellbeing of our people. Rosswell is therefore encouraging patients to get doctor’s prescription before using drugs for treating ED.”
Ochieze echoes the words of Shobode that, prior to using drugs for ED, medical examination is needful. “The medical community recognizes Tadalafil as suitable for treating erectile dysfunction; it activates the heart to pump blood through the arteries that takes blood to the penis that leads to erection.
But in cases where intended user of the drug has a history of bad heart condition or high blood pressure, the doctor’s test will detect it, and necessary advice will be given,” Ochieze explained.
He said that T-Max Tadalafil came into Nigeria in May 2013. Rosswell’s policy is to follow necessary rules pertaining to buying and using ethical drugs.

Tadalafil works by preventing the action of a chemical in the body called phosphodiesterase type 5. This helps to relax (widen) blood vessels and improves the flow of blood to the penis, following sexual stimulation. This helps to maintain an erection.”
